FALL LEAF COLLECTION

The leaf machines will be out starting Tuesday, October 15, 2024.  At that time, leaves and yard waste (pulled flowers and weeds, hedge clippings, pumpkins, etc.) may be placed on the ground next to the street (never in the street, not in bags and not in your totes) for the machines to vacuum up.  While crews try to follow the garbage routes, that day can vary based on volume.  Please be patient - it will be picked up (weather permitting). 

BRUSH COLLECTION - Brush (branch/limb) collection goes on year round (weather permitting) and always begins on the last Monday of the month.  It does not have to be a full week. 

Columbus Day Sanitation Schedule

Garbage and Recycling will be collected on the regular schedule the week of October 13.  There is NO DELAY due to the Columbus Day holiday.  

SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMEMORATIVE ENGRAVED PAVERS

LEGION AND DIVISION INTERSECTION CLOSED STARTING MONDAY

Beginning Monday, August 26th the intersection of Division Street and Legion Drive will be closed to traffic for construction of new underground water lines. Legion Drive will be open to local traffic ONLY. Be advised that all travelers must follow posted signage, including posted detours. This work is expected to take at least 2 days. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

CHARLOTTE AVE NEIGHBORHOOD DRAINAGE STUDY

The Charlotte Avenue neighborhood drainage study was completed in response to observed localized flooding that occurred along Charlotte Avenue, Sharon Drive, Randall Terrace, and surrounding neighborhood streets from a high-intensity, short-duration storm event on May 22, 2024. The report and attachments are now available for review.

Environmental Conservation Commission Promoting Community Solar

The Village's Environmental Conservation Commission has started a Community Solar campaign and are looking for people to enroll.  The campaign offer residents the opportunity to save money and support clean energy.  Click here for additional information and to start the enrollment process today.

ReTREE HAMBURG

ReTree Hamburg is a volunteer group working with the Village of Hamburg to reestablish the beautiful tree canopy for which Hamburg was known.  You can leave a legacy of green for your children by purchasing a tree in tribute to a loved one, in celebration of a special event or just to beautify your neighborhood.  The goal is to plant 150 trees in the village streetscape in 2024 to celebrate the 150-year anniversary of the Village of Hamburg.  For more information about Re-Tree Hamburg and how you can support this effort, please click on read more below.

MATTRESS DISPOSAL POLICY

Mattresses (do not have to wrap box springs), mattress toppers, futon mattresses/cushions must be bagged/wrapped in plastic when they are disposed of during large trash weeks.  You may provide your own bag/wrap or Mattress bags are available at Public Works, 425 Pleasant Avenue for $6.00 each (cash or check). 

TOTES

Additional garbage and recycle totes may be purchased at Public Works, 425 Pleasant Avenue.   Garbage totes are $80.00, Recycle totes are $50.00 - cash or check payable to Village of Hamburg.  Once totes are paid for, they will be delivered.
