Hamburg Industrial Development Agency
The Hamburg Industrial Development Agency works with the Town, the Villages of Hamburg and Blasdell and the Frontier and Hamburg school districts to provide financial incentives for new facility construction and existing business expansion.
Before applying for financial incentives, a company first needs to determine if the proposed project meets eligibility criteria established for all industrial development agencies in Erie County. Projects are reviewed on a case by case basis with emphasis placed on job creation, investment, public purpose and community benefit.
Once a project is determined eligible, you can apply for tax abatement programs administered by the Town of Hamburg Industrial Development Agency. Eligible companies use installment sales and lease transactions to (1) purchase and improve land, (2) construct new facilities, (3) acquire, renovate and expand existing buildings and (4) acquire and install new machinery/equipment.
The benefits a company may receive include sales tax exemption, mortgage recording tax exemption, industrial revenue bonds and property tax abatement.
